With advanced training in general surgery and extensive experience in clinical research and transplant surgery, he earned his medical degree from Assiut University School of Medicine in Egypt and later achieved ECFMG certification and completed all components of the USMLE. His postgraduate training includes surgical residencies at leading U.S. institutions such as the University of Florida, Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, and Maimonides Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Ahmed brings a wealth of hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of surgical disciplines, including abdominal and cardiothoracic transplant surgery. His clinical fellowships at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Transplant Institute and roles as a Surgical House Physician at Memorial Regional Hospital have sharpened his technical skills and deepened his expertise in high-acuity care. In addition to his U.S. experience, he completed residency training in general surgery in Egypt, giving him a uniquely global clinical perspective.
A dedicated researcher, Dr. Ahmed has held prestigious research fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic and Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine, contributing to numerous peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. His work spans topics such as robotic adrenalectomy, LVAD implantation, and pancreatic cancer outcomes. As a member of the American College of Surgeons, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, he remains actively involved in advancing surgical and medical knowledge.
