With over three decades of experience specializing in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. She earned her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and completed her General Psychiatry residency at Hillside Hospital–Long Island Jewish Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she served as Chief Fellow. Throughout her career, Dr. Peña has held leadership roles in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings, serving as Medical Director for multiple organizations, including The Village South – WestCare Foundation and Concept Health Systems. In addition to her extensive clinical work, Dr. Peña has participated in psychiatric research, contributing to projects focused on advancing treatments for substance abuse, mood disorders, and child and adolescent mental health.
In addition to her clinical and research roles, Dr. Peña has been deeply committed to mentoring, program development, and integrating innovative treatment approaches for complex psychiatric conditions. She is known for her compassionate, patient-centered care and her ability to address the unique needs of children, adolescents, and families, as well as adults navigating mental health challenges. At Total Health and Research Center, Dr. Peña combines her vast clinical experience with her research background to ensure patients have access to evidence-based therapies and emerging treatments within a supportive and collaborative environment.
